The Making of Her Own

Digital One believes in the power of place and community, and we love collaborating with local storytellers on exciting new projects. This summer, we were very excited to support "Produced By Her", a 5-week media camp that brings girls aged 12-17 together to learn about documentary filmmaking.

We mastered the audio for Portland's newest filmmakers, who created four unique films on topics that range from the commercial sexual exploitation of children in Oregon, the importance of safe spaces in the LGBTQ community, women and street art, and the experience of women of color in Portland. To top it off, we also mixed a documentary about the making of the four documentaries. Pretty cool huh?

Produced By Her was a partnership between VoxSiren, a creative change agency that focuses on the stories of women and girls, Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest and Northwest Documentary. The project is sponsored by MetroCycle OregonTravel Oregon, and the Bicycle Transportation Alliance. Collaborating with all these non-profits and women-owned local businesses was important to our team.

We wanted the girls to have the best sounding pieces possible for their big screening at the Hollywood Theater on August 28th, and we're thrilled for them to share their unique vision with the Portland community.

Check out VoxSiren to learn more about this creative and collaborative project.
