Whether the weather is warm, whether the weather is hot, we have to put up with the weather, whether we like it or not.
Over the past few months we’ve had the amazing opportunity to lend our ears to the new Weather Channel TV promo & web film campaign produced, directed, and concepted by Brooklyn / Portland-based production company Blue Chalk Media. These captivating short films provide a glimpse into the lives of real people that rely heavily on being ahead of the weather-curve, and up-to-date on what might be in store. Accessing The Weather Channel via their sleek and handy mobile app, website or TV channel allows these folks the ability to plan their day and ensure their jobs get done (and in many cases, lives are saved).
Working with the Blue Chalk team has been an absolute pleasure — and coincidentally, the perfect fit. For those of you just tuning in, Dig1 is comprised of a few mountain climbers, Oregon-coast surfers, farm-kids (i.e. lamb-enthusiasts), gardeners and bee-foley-experts. Fun fact: before there was The Weather Channel “Bees” piece featuring bee-keeper Dave Hackenberg, there was “Queen of the Sun” — mixed by Dig1’s very own Ryan Mauk.
Keep your eyes peeled for more to come in this bewitching Weather Channel series, and take a look at the first five here:
