It’s been a long time coming. And really, it’s something that’s always been — but now the skate community is getting some custom upgrades that’s making their Levi’s an even better fit. It doesn’t get more eloquent than what Skateboard Mag reported: “The [Levi’s Skateboarding] collection is a reimagined assortment of timeless basics that were designed and constructed to match the demands of today’s skateboarding needs. Designed, developed, and tested by skateboarders, for skateboarders, each piece has a purposeful design matched with superior construction.” Designed with a purpose. Brilliant.
For the Levi’s Skateboarding Collection Look-Book video, Sound Designer Chip Sloan collaborated with Peet Kegler and director Jon Humphries to add authentic skate SFX and sound design to the piece, in an effort to capture the raw element of skate videos from the day.

On a slightly different note, Levi’s is launching their new “Go To Work” commuter line, and Portland has been chosen as one of the six cities featured in their bike shop tour. Starting at 5pm on August 6th at the Wonder Ballroom, Levi’s is hosting a tune-up extravaganza and free concert (21+, concert starts at 8pm: RSVP here), with musical performances by Pure Bathing Culture, Onuinu and Magic Mouth. Go get your tune up did, and we’ll see you there.
