It’s the middle of February. Whoa. And as the Portland weather gets ever so slightly nicer, the year-round riders at Dig1 (that’s 4 out of 6 of us) have noticed quite an increase in the number of bikers that have joined in on our morning commute. That can sometimes make the busier PDX bike routes pretty congested — and super stressful — but luckily Oregonians have the Bicycle Transportation Alliance (BTA) on their side!
We’re big fans of the BTA here at Dig1, mostly because the Bicycle Transportation Alliance does good work, and they do it for the greater good. They work hard day-in and day-out to create a community where riding to-and-fro is safe, convenient, and most of all gloriously enjoyable.
In addition to organizing the annual Bike Commute Challenge, which Dig1 proudly takes part in each year, the BTA works tirelessly to educate cyclists on biking safety in the city, what to do if you get in an accident, and how to encourage youngins to get excited about riding. Visit btaoregon.org to sign up for their newsletter, and to learn more about all they do for Oregon communities.
And to prepare for the fantastic cycling weather in coming months, stop by the PDX Bicycle Show at the Portland Expo Center on March 23rd and 24th to buy and sell your new and used cycling gear. Steals and deals are definitely to be had.
